Our Story
Many years ago, a young recently married college student named Todd Jorgensen couldn’t bear the thought of more government loans to live on. So relying on his artistic ability and determined to succeed, he designed a t-shirt for his fellow business management students. It was the spring of 1993.
45 days later and with the help of his wife and older brother, Todd had sold over 500 shirts to students all over campus! Confident in his experience and with nothing to lose, he decided to make his product available to schools all across America.
At first, college graduate programs such as law, nursing, and business schools were targeted successfully. Then Todd’s mother encouraged him to make his designs and shirts available to elementary schools . Although skeptical, he forged ahead with his elementary school marketing efforts. The results were astounding! Hundreds of schools purchased his shirts.
The growth of the business continued. Then Todd realized that he could no longer handle all of the duties required to run a business by himself. So he hired several part-time employees (college students) before realizing that adding full-time staff to the business was the right move.
Darin Jorgensen (one of Todd’s younger brothers) joined the business in 2000 to handle systems and accounting. Eric Jorgensen (another brother) joined soon thereafter to focus on new accounts and sales. Lance Jorgensen (another brother) came on full-time in 2003 to handle the creative direction of the company. Dianne Sorensen, an industry acquaintance from many years ago, came on board in 2007 to coordinate the endless stream of phone calls. Adam Jorgensen (another brother----yes, that’s right---Todd has 6 brothers in all!) began working full-time in 2009 with an emphasis on pre-production and logistics.
Today, the people that currently make things happen at CDI Sportswear have over 100 years of screenprinting experience combined! WOW! With so many full-time and devoted members of the company, Todd was finally able to provide his services to grade schools, junior high and middle schools, high school groups, and college programs all across America. Over the years, tens of thousands of groups have called on CDI Sportswear for their custom apparel.
CDI Sportswear has satisfied clients in 48 states and provides custom screenprinted and embroidered apparel for sports teams, marching bands, school clubs, elementary students, college programs, graduating classes, junior high/middle school groups, and PE programs from California to Florida, Oregon to Maine and everywhere in between.
